We were approached by SHPC in mid-2006 to design and build a new website. The original site was a flat HTML site with no database integration. It was cumbersome to maintain and update. The church asked for a friendly, warm, inviting site that was easy to maintain.
We descided to develop the site using ASP and MSSQL and create an easy-to-use back-end system to maintain the contents of the site. This is a custom application written in a structured manner which allows future resources to easily make updates or improvements to the sytem. Cascaded Style Sheets are used to control the look and feel of the site. We integrated an off-the-shelf WYSIWYG editor allowing authorized users to quickly and easily edit the contents of any page.
The header is a custom graphic created for this project. The pull-down menu is a javascript application. The video feed on the left side is a mash-up of a third-party (eggvideo.com). Layout, style, rounded corners, floating panels, etc. are controlled by the CSS for the site. This use of CSS allows us to easily change the look and feel of the site without having to edit each page individually.

Pleased beyond expectations
We are extremely pleased beyond all expectations at the ease of use that our newly designed website offered. It truly encompassed what we needed: user-friendly interface, low-maintenance web-editing capabilities that church staff could keep up on their own, and the ability to package it all with a look and feel that truly captures the many ministries here at SHPC. Leonard and his programmers really looked after our needs "aftermarket" and continued to work with us as needs changed and had to be encorporated into the site. Most impressive overall is the patience, expertise and dedication to customer satisfaction and accuracy that was is very important in the world of "instant publishing" where anything online is open to view all over the world. We would recommend this experience for anyone who is looking for a group that knows how to incorporate integrity, stability, and creativity in a constantly evolving web development arena. Check out our site at sequoyahchurch.org! Thanks, Leonard!
